Starting in March 1997 until the project was sold and integrated into citysearch.com in early 1999, Loris Scagliarini designed over 500 still tiles and animation for Microsoft’s San Francisco, CA, and Seattle, WA, sidewalk.com city guides.

In those "old millennium" times there were no fancy Fireworks or ImageReady softwares to optimize and animate GIFs for the web. Photoshop 4 and DeBabilizer 3 were new. To get the 126-pixel wide by 270-pixel tall animated tiles down to 15k often required opening a file in two or three different applications as well as compromising some quality.

It was however, a lot of fun meeting a great variety of clients in the Seattle, WA, and San Francisco Bay areas.
