Founded in March 1994 in San Rafael, CA, by Loris Scagliarini and Brigit Solè March, Journals and Journeys designed and marketed art postcards and calendars in Guatemala, Central America. In addition to writing magazine articles for American and international magazines, Loris also took all the photographs which illustrate them.

Under Brigit's direction, Journals and Journeys developed Business English training for foreign executives and entrepreneurs. The two partners also wrote a guide book that was published in English, Italian and Spanish.

In 1997 Loris founded art-i-zen.com and dedicated himself to developing Internet solutions for small and medium-sized businesses and organizations located both in the US and Italy. Later, in 1998 Brigit founded Focus on Languages to further develop her Business English courses as well as conversational Italian and Spanish classes for Americans.

Journals and Journeys today represents a network that includes both Focus on Languages and art-i-zen.comin addition to the recently acquired CinemaBaroni.com.
